In the early hours of Saturday morning the Javea Bulls club house was set on fire by vandals. The club lost all the rugby equipment, as well as the new kitchen that was installed ready for the Mini-Bulls family barbecue on Sunday, as well as all the food and drink. The fire also destroyed the kid's specially printed t -shirts, medals and other gifts for the Mini-Bulls.
Immediately after hearing this news the Javea Bulls rugby players, along with members of the local community, pulled together to make sure that following day's fifth and final Mini-Bulls rugby session, plus family barbecue would still go ahead. Late into Saturday evening, members and friends of the Javea Bulls Rugby Club, had finally borrowed, bought, acquired or begged for enough equipment to make sure that the family barbecue would go ahead.
The club would like to thank everybody who helped in anyway, with some special thanks going to CasaSegura Locksmiths for collecting donations, Iceland for replacing the kids soft drinks, Rabbit FX for the water, Aquasport for the loan of a tent, InterSport Xabia for replacing the medals, Positive Signs for working through the night to reprint stickers, Costa Blanca Party Service for opening up on Saturday afternoon especially for us, CoastFM´s Simon Moody for playing some great music all day, Heineken for loaning us a beer pump and bar for the day and Mark Walker from Laserlight for supplying music equipment. A full report and pictures of a very successful family day at the Javea Bulls Rugby Club, will be following in next weeks edition.
