On a glorious Saturday afternoon, it was the return match against Elche which Javea knew was going to be even harder than the first game which ended in a slim 24-22 victory to Javea. However this time, an interesting twist to the league when Elche's A team in the league above resigned in December which meant that all the A team players were now playing for the B team, so the Bulls knew they were in for a hard afternoon.

Before the kick-off Peter Sowerby the Bull's President was delighted to accept the match ball from Lee Jones, owner of the successful property franchise business OPI. Lee has also joined the Bulls as Commercial Director, whose role is to raise finance for the club through sponsorship.

The game started evenly but as Javea started to gain the upper hand a penalty was awarded to Elche which gave them a 3 point lead. Javea's stronger pack started to dominate the set piece and break-down play and after a few minutes of pressure Andy powered over for the first try which Jordi converted 7-3. Some great back moves and open individual play saw Javea increase the pressure on Elche and tries by David and Jordi, all converted, ended the half 22-3.

The second half Javea came out flying and completed dominated every piece of play, Elche didn't seem to have any answers and tries came flooding in with some exceptional play from Alf, who scored twice, Hugo, Miguel and Fredy who scored his very first try for the Bulls.

The hard training was paying off, the Bulls played their best rugby so far and their pack rucked and mauled brilliantly all day securing quick possession and phase after phase of running attacks with a new look back line showed how the Bulls have improved recently.

Elche came close to scoring after some broken play but the Bull's defense held strong. A clash of heads between Fredy and Ashley saw both of them leave the field for stitches and then Javi also gashed his eye, also needing stitches. The subs all did a great job and kept up the pressure and the scoring of points to end the game 53-3.
