Javea's Town Hall has signed a deal with that of Benitatchell to allow those on the Javea Padron to enjoy the same terms and conditions that already apply to those from Benitatchell for use of their covered swimming pool.

Javea's councillor for Sports, Juan Luis Cardona, explains that Javea has reserved a budget allowance of 12,000€ to cover the cost of this subsidy. The total amount will only be spent depending on the number of folk from Javea that actually make use of this service.

Those interested need to apply to the Citizens' Advice and Help desk that will provide the proper entitlement paper that will need to be presented in due course at the swimming pool in Benitatchell.

This deal will allow youngsters aged 5-12 to benefit from swimming lessons as offered by the Municipal School, while others less healthy can benefit from rehabilitation exercise.

This deal (convenio) has been ratified by respective council meetings of both municipalities and is effective for the rest of October onwards.

To sign on to either of these courses, applications should be made, while there are still places available, at the Municipal Sports Hall (Avenida de Furs nº 8 or by telephone 96 579 20 00).
